This Privacy Policy governs the use of the mobile application EZ Car Codes: OBD2 ELM Scanner ("the Application"), created by INQUTECH LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

The Application is built as an ad-supported engine diagnostics tool with optional in-app purchases. This page is used to inform users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.

1. Information Collection and Use

We value your privacy. The Application is designed to process automotive data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or harvest any personal data, vehicle identification numbers (VIN), or individual vehicle diagnostics logs to any external servers.

2. Android System Permissions & Hardware Access

To establish a connection with external OBD2 ELM327 hardware adapters, the Application requires specific wireless and system permissions. These permissions are used exclusively for real-time car diagnostics:

• Bluetooth & Bluetooth LE (BLE) Permissions: Required to discover, pair with, and stream engine sensor data from your physical ELM327 Bluetooth adapter.
• Wi-Fi Network Permissions: Required to communicate with Wi-Fi-based ELM327 hardware diagnostic plugs.
• Location Services (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): On certain versions of the Android Operating System, Bluetooth scanning capabilities are programmatically bundled inside Location Services. We use this strictly to discover nearby hardware adapters. We do not track, log, map, or share your physical location.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertisements

The Application utilizes third-party code libraries that may collect data used to identify your device to deliver advertisements or process transactions. These services handle data in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

• Google Play Services: Used to manage app performance and account sign-ins.
• Google Play Billing: Used safely to handle your one-time premium ad-removal upgrade.
• Google AdMob: Used to serve non-intrusive advertisements in the free tier of the application. AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve tailored ads.

4. Security

We are committed to protecting the integrity of your app workspace. Because all vehicle processing takes place strictly on your local smartphone and does not sync to an online cloud database, your automotive diagnostic log data remains secure on your hardware.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our records.
